Our History

CORTESA was founded in October 1969 by LEON RAUSCHER, who, as a commercial representative and distributor of European cutting machines, decided to start manufacturing in Brazil. In a modest way, Cortesa’s activities began in a property in the BOM RETIRO neighborhood, close to the center of Curitiba. Soon the space was insufficient and the construction of a new headquarter was started in the municipality of PINHAIS, metropolitan region of Curitiba, moving there in 1983.

In 2002, a partnership was formalized with the German company URBAN, world leader in the manufacture of machines for PVC window frames. This partnership made Cortesa the leader in Brazil as a supplier of installations for the manufacture of PVC window frames. In 2012, through this partnership, CORTESA installed the first two fully automated factories for the production of PVC window frames. In these factories, once the frame has been designed in the management software, all machine adjustments are transmitted online, eliminating the need for manual programming by operators.

Certified with the ISO-9001-2015 quality management system, the equipment produced or sold by CORTESA is also used in other sectors, such as metal furniture and the mechanical industry in general.

In recent years, CORTESA has received several “BRAND BRAZIL AWARDS” as the favorite brand of the readers of CONTRAMARCO magazine in the categories “machines for locksmiths”, “machines for window frames” and “tools for window frames”.
